TRAVEL INSURANCE

We believe that safety and enjoyment are equally important when travelling with Egypt Uncovered. It is therefore one of our terms and conditions of booking that you have adequate travel insurance in place before you travel with us.

We have teamed up with Endsleigh Insurance Services Limited to offer our travellers a policy which has been specifically designed to meet their requirements. To view full policy wording and the range of benefits and exclusions, please click here.

New policies taken out do provide some cover for Covid-19 related situations:

• Medical expenses abroad if you develop symptoms of Covid-19 and need testing or other treatment.
• Accommodation and other expenses abroad if you develop symptoms and need testing or other treatment
• Repatriation to your home country if needed for medical reasons caused by Covid-19
• Cancellation cover before departure if you don't have a positive test but it is deemed medically necessary not to travel (paperwork from your doctor will be required)
• Cancellation cover before departure will be considered if you don't have any symptoms but are in self quarantine due to government track & trace instructions, providing you have a government letter confirming this

However, the following situations are not covered:

• Curtailment costs for the portion of a tour you may miss if you have to cut your tour short due to you or a person travelling with you developing Covid-19 symptoms while abroad.
• Cancellation cover before departure due to you having a positive Covid-19 test.
• Cancellation cover before departure if you are subject to a local lockdown
• Cancellation cover before departure if we are following official UK FCO advice and running your tour, but your home country is advising you against travel.

IMPORTANT:  Our policy does not provide any Covid-19 cover at all if you travel to a country which the UK government advises against travel to for Covid-19 reasons.

During the Covid-19 pandemic this covers nearly all our destinations, making our policy unsuitable for most new bookings at the moment which will travel in the near future. The policy will however be suitable for travel further into the future if and when UK government travel advice restrictions have been be eased.
If the UK FCDO restrictions remain in place when it comes close to your travel date, you would need to either accept the risk of covering any Covid-19 related costs yourself (not recommended!) or cancel any policy held with us and receive a refund, and take out a new policy with a different provider. 

The following policies all cover travel to destinations which the UK (and US) governments may be advising against travel to. Please ensure you check you are happy with the level of cover provided.

To purchase our Endsleigh provided travel insurance cover, first please complete the online application form and we will then add the policy to your booking and update your invoice. If you are aged over 85 we will first provide you with a quote to approve.

It is your responsibility to ensure that your insurance provides sufficient cover appropriate for the activities included in the tour. If you do not purchase your travel insurance through us, then your policy needs to cover:

• Medical Expenses & Repatriation
• Personal Accident & Liability
• Travel Delays, Abandonment & Missed Departure

We also strongly recommend that you obtain cover for the following:

• Cancellation & Curtailment
  
• Personal Effects, Baggage & Money
• Covid-19 related situations (including cancellation if you have a positive test before departure, quarantine accommodation costs during your tour if required, Covid-19 testing and medical costs if you develop symptoms while on tour)

We will need to know the Policy Number, the Name of the Issuing Company, and the Policy Emergency Telephone Number before you travel. 

Note: Cancellation cover will only commence once payment for the policy has been made and the policy documents issued. Cover towards unrecoverable cancellation costs will then apply should you have to cancel your trip for an insured reason.
